It’s just not cricket

You don’t need to be a former international cricket player or even a cricket expert to realize that the Indian Cricket team has done at the end of their match with Pakistan in the Asian Cup was just not cricket.

Many arguments can be used against the antactive behavior of the Indian team. Let’s start with the most obvious observations: if you are going to boycott the sports team of another country, do it fully – do not play at all. But if you decided to play the match against what you considered an enemy country, do it as if it were a sport and not a war. And at least in the cricket, which includes the handling of the members of the opposing team once the match is over.

India seems to have conveniently forgotten that no country in the world – not even its former allies – bought its story as Pakistan or anyone who linked to Pakistan was behind the attack by Pahalgam. In fact, Pakistan even proposed to be part of a complete investigation into the issue as long as it is carried out by an independent and neutral part.

As for the remarks of the Indian captain of Captain Suryakumar Yadav to the media during the post-match ceremony, if he is so determined to play in war drums, then he should perhaps leave the cricket, which is still a sport and join the Indian army.

Although it did not present an iota of evidence – something that even the main opposition parties in India have conceded – the BJP government led an attack on Pakistan in which many precious lives were lost and there have been public and private damages.

India was certainly not the victim in this area, but rather the thwarter thwarted. It is in fact the Israel game book, which used exactly the same justification after attacking Qatar. He painted himself as a victim and said that he was only trying to attack those who attacked him – barely forgetting the tens of thousands of Palestinians, including thousands of children – whom he has killed in Gaza in recent years.

That’s not all. The way in which traditional Indian media whipped the jingoistical feeling and the way some ads of well -known Indian television news made fun of former Indian cricket players to “not express themselves against the match” was absurd – and that does it slightly.

It was absurd because they were not former Indian cricket players like Surav Ganguly or Rahul Dravid who had given the green light for the Indian Cricket team to play the match, but the government of the BJP itself. And here are the consumer Indian media – generally called “GODI media” to be on Modi’s lap – ignoring this fact and making fun of the former Indian cricket players for not having taken a stand. They also ignored the fact that the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) is generally managed by an individual considered to be close to the ruling party.

In contrast to this, despite the fact that Pakistan was attacked without India quite presenting its involvement in the attack by Pahalgam, and even if it has given a sound to the Air Force index down as many of its fighter planes, including three precious gusts, the Pakistani media have not been beating war drums or asking not to play matches with India. He also did not ask the Pakistani government to prevent the national cricket team from playing India, rightly suggesting that sport and politics should not and should not mix.

After the match, Pakistan Cricket Board has rightly filed the International Cricket Council (ICC), asking it to hold the Indian team in violation of the Code of Driving, which also stipulates that the members of the opposing teams shake hands after the end of a match.

Of course, since the ICC is considered to be considered completely subordinate to the whims of the Indian Cricket Board of Directors and since the ICC is now led by Jay Shah, who is the son of the Minister of India Amit Shah, it is very unlikely that the CPI Age on the complaint of Pakistan.

The actions of India cricket players have restored the cricket game and also lowered their own stature in the cricket world. Several former cricket players, as well as commentators and journalists covering sport, went out unequivocally to condemn the refusal of the Indian cricket team to shake hands with the Pakistani team after their match.

This has shown that India was a country that is unable to separate policy from sport and also that is incapable or does not want to respect its opponents. After all, even in a war, an honorable soldier would respect a worthy adversary.
