I saw dozens of new robot vacuums at CES 2026, and many of them had particularly eye-catching features. There was a robot with real legs to go up and down stairs and over uneven terrain. There was a robot vacuum cleaner that could transform into a manual vacuum cleaner, and vice versa. There was even a robotvac that could apparently help you find your lost keys. And that’s alongside stair-climbing robovacs and this robot with an arm capable of reaching detail tools, both first unveiled at IFA in September 2025.
While all of these things are certainly impressive, most aren’t quite ready for the market yet, and some – dare I say it – may ultimately fall into the “gimmick” category. In terms of robots I would actually want in my home, two new models stood out from the pack.
Roborock Saros 20
The Saros 20 is the successor to the very popular Saros 10R. It retains everything we loved about that old version, but introduces a few important updates that help bring it up to speed. The main one is an improved “AdaptiLift” system. It’s basically all the technology surrounding the little feet that can lift the robot off the ground.
The Saros 20 will be able to cross even higher room thresholds than its predecessor. I saw it hit a massive double milestone in the Roborock demo area at CES, and while there was a bit of a bump, it was still impressive to see. If your home’s room thresholds are high, this upgrade could make all the difference.
There is a second trick related to the AdaptiLift feature: it can now hold the robot at a predefined height range. This means it can hover at the right height on a thick rug or carpet, cleaning it effectively without getting stuck.
Beyond that, these are all the things that made the Saros 10R such a versatile device. There are two rotating mops, one of which is able to move sideways to reach the edges of rooms. The suction specs are strong and there’s the same anti-tangle roller that’s so successful on other Roborock robots I’ve tested. Additionally, I would expect an intuitive app and generally excellent reliability and usability. Of all the Roborock robots launched at CES, the Saros 20 is the one to watch.
Dream X60
Dreame is another one of my favorite robot vacuum brands, consistently delivering reliable, efficient, and user-friendly robots. Like Roborock, it showed off a few different models at CES, but the one that will be most practical for most people is the X60.
This is the model built on the exceptional Dreame X50, and once again there are some welcome tweaks and changes. The main update is that this robot has been on a diet – it’s significantly shallower than its predecessor and might actually be the thinnest robot vacuum on the market right now (it’s about the same height as the Saros 20 above).
If you have a low-slung sofa, there’s a good chance that this robot can now venture underneath and remove all the dust bunnies that have accumulated since the last time you bothered to lift the sofa and clean underneath.
Another major update here is that the cleaning station now uses warmer water to wash the mop pads. Much warmer. Hot, in fact. The idea is that it will remove grease and grime so that your mop pads will be good as new by the time the robovac ventures on another cleaning spree.
As with the Roborock Saros 20, there’s also a retractable LiDAR puck (which helps keep the overall height low) and mini feet to get it over thresholds of tall rooms.
Pricing and availability
Both Roborock and Dreame are widely available in various countries, including the US, UK, and Australia, but not everything is arriving at once.
At the time of writing, the Saros 20 is listed on the Roborock global site, but is not available for pre-order or purchase.
The X60 Max Ultra Complete is available for pre-order in the US at dreametech.com, $1,359.99 with shipping from February 10. At list price it costs $1,699.99 (equivalent to around £1,260 / AU$2,525), but is currently marked down by $340, with various accessories included.
We will be testing both models and will have full reviews with you as soon as possible. In the meantime, I’ve spotted some big discounts on older (but still great) versions of each bot, which are well worth checking out…
