Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Asahi are apparently ready to resume production after important cyber attacks that have interrupted work in the two organizations.
For JLR, this will be a relief since production has been considerably affected for a little more than a month, with systems and factories closings that saw Merseyside and Solihul workers sent to them while the company has taken proactive measures to mitigate damage.
However, the recovery will not be easy for JLR, who will face the costs of “millions per week” due to a lack of cyber-assurance coverage. The company apparently negotiated coverage as the attack has occurred, but has since been written a loan of 1.5 billion pounds from the British government to support the 30,000 JLR employees and 200,000 workers assigned in the supply chain.

For the alcohol giant Asahi, operations and shipments have been suspended in up to 30 factories after a cyber attack caused a system failure in its Japanese operations.
With a share of 40% of the Japanese beer market, the disruption has been widespread, causing shortages in bars and restaurants – although its European marks, including Fulers and Peroni, were not affected.
The attack caused a systems failure that affected control processing, shipping and call functions to Japan.
