Despite living in Puerto Rico, Jake Paul won’t be rooting for his neighbor during the halftime show.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer denounced Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show about two hours before kickoff and implored fans to realize they “have the power” to use their voices.

“Let’s voluntarily turn off the halftime show. Let’s come together and show big business that they can’t do what they want without consequences (which is a ratings audience for them),” Paul posted on X. “You are their advantage. Realize that you have the power. Turn off this halftime show.”

Paul then called Bad Bunny a “fake American citizen who publicly hates America.”

“I can’t support that,” Paul continued.

The artist received both praise and backlash for her “ICE out” comments at the Grammys last week. Bad Bunny said last fall that he decided to do his residency exhibitions at his native Puerto Rico and has not booked any US dates for his tour, fearing that his fans will be detained by ICE agents.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., said he would avoid Bad Bunny’s performance in the “Woke Bowl”.

“And we have Bad Bunny, or Bad Rabbit, at halftime. I’ll watch the (Turning Point USA) halftime show. It’s just unfortunate that we’ve gotten to this point,” Tuberville said.

Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre also said he would tune into Turning Point USA’s “The All-American Halftime Show,” saying he didn’t know who Bad Bunny was.

Earlier this weekend, Paul defended ICE agents after watching Olympic hockey with Vice President JD Vance.

Paul’s fiancée, Jutta Leerdam, will aim for her first Olympic gold medal in speed skating on Monday.

Pau’s nickname is “El Gallo de Dorado”, which means The Rooster of Dorado. Paul lives in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
