Boxing fans asked Jake Paul to get a more difficult competition in the ring, and apparently he was trying.
But after Paul and his team were “deeply in the negotiations” with the current WBO, WBA and WBC Super Middleweight Canelo álvarez, the defending champion “Ducked” Paul.
The former promoter of Álvarez, Eddie Hearn, even said that the two had reached an agreement to fight, but now the fight is disabled.

Álvarez rather signed an agreement of four fights with the Riyadh season to fight in Saudi Arabia.
In a statement published on Friday, Paul’s most precious promotions said that the fight would have taken place in Las Vegas on the weekend of Cinco de Mayo, “a massive event for Mexican, Puerto Rican and American fans.”
“It is disappointing to see how the situation took place. MVP works with integrity, transparency and respect for sport, its athletes and fans. Unfortunately, everyone in the world of boxing does not share these values”, said the MVP press release.
Paul then went to social networks to discuss his side.
“Breaking News: Canelo Alvarez dodged me, Jake Paul, and is now a slave detained without regard for the pride of the Mexican people who support him on American soil,” wrote Paul. “It is not surprising when his entire career, he did nothing for boxing sports outside the ring.

Álvarez Fightra still this weekend, with an opponent to determine. It is also planned for a title fight on September 13 against Terence Crawford.

Paul has a 11-1 sheet in his career after beating Mike Tyson, who fell to 50-7, in November.
