James Cameron recently revealed that he was in talks with Disney to expand his record Avatar Franchise in the field of animation.
In an interview Empire magazineThe Oscar -winning director said: “Listen, I want to make a series of animated anthology which is essentially in the world, but stories that you would not have expected from this world.”
He suggested that this expansion could involve not only a series but also a potential animated feature film.
In addition, Cameron also cited The animatrix like a key inspiration. “This was an excellent example of how we can add texture and baroque details to the world of avatar,” he said.
“Who landed for the first time on Pandora? The first expedition. You could go wherever you want,” continued Cameron, noting that stories could offer “a story about the characters and tangential stuff that occurred out of camera in the movies.”
He added that the project is still at its beginnings, saying: “We are always gathering our stories and this kind of thing, and I have to find shop filmmakers, the animators, who want to do it.”
