JPMorgan Chase (JPM) customers will soon be able to buy Bitcoin
According to CEO Jamie Dimon, who spoke on Monday during the annual day of the bank’s investors, reporting a change in the way the company addresses the assets.
“We are going to allow you to buy it,” Dimon told shareholders, although he added that the bank did not intend to hold the assets in detention.
Dimon, known for a long time for his skepticism of cryptocurrency, has doubled in his closing remarks, saying that he is still “not a fan” of Bitcoin, mainly because of his use for illegal activities, including sex traffic and money laundering
He also rejected the media shock of the industry around blockchain technology, arguing that it is less important than it was – even if JPMorgan continues to build in space.
“We have been talking about blockchain for 12 to 15 years,” he said. “We spend too much. It doesn’t matter as much as you think.”
The bank’s own blockchain platform, Kinexys, recently carried out a test transaction on a public blockchain for the first time, adjusting the American treasures in token on Ondo Chain Testnet.
