The former great Jason Kelce of the Eagles of Philadelphia is not a fan of jersey numbers that defensive players can now wear.
Upon entering the 2021 season, the NFL expanded the jersey numbers that were available for certain position groups. Kelce sucks on the days when he could look at a jersey number and know what position a guy played.
“I like to look at a jersey and know without F —- Know the guy what position this guy played. There was something about the number signifying the position you played,” Kelce said in a recent episode of “New Heights”.

“I hate that the NFL has changed the rule of defensive line players. I liked these emblematic numbers that the defensive extremities wore, the secondors wore, now I see one (defensive end) and it carries the n ° 1 or the n ° 11.”
“I should not call No. 11, he is a good F — ING player,” Kelce said, referring to Micah Parsons.
Defensive line players are always limited to n ° 50–79 and 90–99, but the seconds who line up on the melee line have received more options with their jersey numbers. Previously, the seconds were limited to n ° 40-59 and 90-99, but now they can wear numbers 0-59 and 90-99.

The defensive backs were previously limited to n ° 20-49, but can now wear numbers 0-49.
“I don’t like that the figures mean nothing for defense. Anyone can wear what they want and then you still have ineligible figures,” said Kelce.

On the offensive side of the balloon, quarter-arre are now also allowed to wear n ° 0 in addition to n ° 1-19. The runners and the great-trees were previously n ° 20-49, but can now carry the numbers 0-49 and 80-89.
Large receptors and tight ends are now all authorized to wear n ° 0-49 and 80-89. The wide receptors and the tight ends were limited to n ° 10-19 and 80-89 and our 40-49 and 80-89, respectively.
