During Gamescom 2025, JBL unveiled three new models in its Quantum Headset series, sporting a new design and with improved audio technology.
At the top of the range, JBL Quantum 950, alongside the JBL Quantum 650 and JBL Quantum 250, each bringing a pro-grade audio technology to players and offering a following level comfort and elite audio precision.
The Quantum 950 has been built from zero and has new dynamic carbon pilots of 50 mm JBL which provide rich and high-resolution certified sound with ultra-basic distortion.
With an improved high frequency response, players will be able to identify subtle clues in the game, such as steps, recharges and position changes, which other helmets may miss.
It also has a quantum spatial sound JBL, fueled by the new JBL Quantuminine, monitoring the 3D head and active noise cancellation for an immersive gaming experience.
“No competitor offers this level of acoustic technology,” said Carsten Olesen, president of Consumer Audio at Harman. “Our expertise in audio innovation passes through the new JBL Quantum helmets and the redessinted JBL Quantungine software. We have developed professional playing sound and made it accessible to all.”
The 950 also offers a light design and the new JBL’s patented hammock band with a breathable mesh suspension for better weight distribution, and memory foam ear cushions for long game sessions.
The latest JBL model upgrades of a 4 mm cardioid boom in 6 mm cardioid microphone, improving vocal clarity and team communications, while using the integrated AI noise reduction, optimized via JBL Quantungine software.
Regarding the battery life, the Quantum 950 offers a hot double battery system, which can be deposited on the base station included. It also includes the options for jumping between 2.4 GHz wireless wireless thread, Bluetooth 5.3 or cable connectivity according to the player’s needs.
Meanwhile, the JBL Quantum 650 brings a large part of what the 950 offers, including the quantum spatial sound JBL, the new dynamic carbon pilots of 50 mm and the hot battery support. It also supports the same flexible connectivity: wireless 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.3 and cable.
The JBL Quantum 250 is the cheapest model from the group and is designed with “the simplicity of the plug-and-play” in mind, and offers wired performance on a range of platforms, including PC, Mac, Console and Mobile. It is light like the other models and is built with the same modern and modular design and the 50 mm precision pilots which define the new JBL Quantum series.
Each model is available in black or white and has purple and orange accents, as well as dynamic RGB lighting in the base station.
