Jelly Roll partially blamed himself for the mental health struggles of her teenage daughter linked to her mother.
The singer, 40, was frank on the difficulties he and his family confronted due to the dependence struggles of his baby mom – with whom he welcomed the 16 -year -old daughter Bailee Ann – in a new interview with The pivot podcast.
“My child’s mother has fought against drug addiction since my daughter’s birth,” said Jelly on the podcast. “The drug addict is not the victim of this situation. The family is.”
The singer began to wonder how Bailee had to have received the news from her mother’s arrest earlier this month in Tennessee for possession of drugs.
“It was a press article with which his mother had returned to prison, had been taken with it, like methamphetamine or something,” he said.
“I saw the affect that it had on her. I am 16 years old, almost 17 years old, and I saw the affect that it had – it really affected her life,” added Jelly, who said that learning to arrest “broke the heart of Bailee.
“It is a 16-year-old woman, 17 who knows that her mother is a drug addict, but as she had to see her mother’s mugshot with just methamphetamine on her face,” he continued before stopping to note that he “became emotional” speaking on the question while he was starting to cry.

“I watched her to start again. I said to myself:” Ah, guy “, I forgot because I am like, I am 40 years old and I did a lot of therapy and I did a lot of work and I have a relationship with God that it hurts me, but I just have to pray and continue,” said Jelly.

The father of two admitted that he felt responsible for a large part of his daughter’s suffering on family issues.
