Jennifer Aniston has opened up about her difficult childhood.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine for its November issue, the Friends The star opened up about the terrible divorce of her parents, John Aniston and Nancy Dow, which left her alone.
Jennifer admitted that she felt like a “pawn” as both her parents tried to settle scores equally during this difficult time. She wasn’t a priority for them.
The Hollywood star also mentioned that when her parents were on the verge of divorce, it was unclear how to take care of the children during the separation.
For those who don’t know, Jennifer was only nine years old when her parents separated.
“Their divorce was not amicable in any way,” Jennifer told the outlet. “It was a time when we didn’t really know how to behave for the sake of the child.”
“It was the least of [my parents’] “It was more, how could they hurt each other? And I was just a pawn.”
Due to the situations she experienced in her childhood, Jennifer had to undergo therapy.
Elsewhere in the conversation, she also admitted that she had to undergo several therapies to stop her from “getting angry.”
Additionally, Jennifer also talked about her parents’ personalities, that her mom and dad were “ridiculously funny people” and that she was “around a lot of laughs.”
