Jennifer Lopez has maintained a positive outlook on life despite her four failed marriages, but it wasn’t always so easy, as the actress shared.
The 56-year-old star, who rarely comments on her past relationships, told the crowd at her Las Vegas residency concert that after her third divorce, she “really started getting good at this.”
THE On the floor The hitmaker divorced her third husband Marc Anthony after 10 years of marriage when they had three-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
J.Lo went on to say, “Seriously, it’s not funny,” adding that “it was actually a very difficult time.”
Opening up about how it evolved, the Kiss of the Spider Woman The star shared, “I was really on the verge of giving up on everything. I mean, I was a single mom with two 3-year-old twins and I called one of my mentors. Her name was Louise Hay. Some of you might know who she was. She passed away.”
The self-help guide gave her advice that Lopez still clings to: “She said to me, ‘Jennifer, you’re a dancer, aren’t you?’ I said, “Yes, I am.” And she said, “When you learn a dance and you take the wrong step, what do you do?” I said, “I’ll keep going until I get the steps right.” And she said, ‘It’s true, Jennifer. Always keep dancing.
J.Lo told her audience that she wanted the same for all of them and that they should continue dancing despite any problems they might encounter.
THE Boy Next Door The actress was able to move on from her failed marriage and give love another chance by reconnecting with her old flame Ben Affleck and saying her vows again in 2022.
The marriage didn’t work out and they separated in 2024, but Lopez has previously said she has no regrets about how things turned out.
