Lahore:
Jamaat-E-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly condemned Israeli military actions in Palestine, denouncing the international community, in particular Muslim countries, to be silent spectators.
Speaking at an emergency press conference held on Sunday at the headquarters of the party in Mansoora, he announced a national solidarity campaign with the Palestinian people, including a series of gatherings of demonstrations which are held outside of American diplomatic missions.
The demonstrations are scheduled for April 11 in Lahore, on April 13 in Karachi, and April 20 in Islamabad, which, according to him, aim to “send a strong message” against Israeli atrocities.
“The true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes supporting Israel has been exposed,” he said, accusing certain Muslim governments to align themselves with the Zionist state under American patronage at the cost of regional stability and moral responsibility.
Emir Ji denounced Muslim leaders for their “failure to respond decisively”.
“If he had had an honor or courage in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism,” he said.
He allegedly alleged that more than 80,000 houses had been destroyed in the West Bank, thousands of imprisonment and that Israel stages a genocide campaign.
He warned that those who cooperate with Israel betrayed Ummah and inflicted long -term damage. “It is the collective duty of the Muslim world to raise the voice for the Al-et-Palestinian quons,” he added.
By approaching national issues, Hafiz Naeem rejected the government’s recent decision to reduce electricity bills as insufficient, adding that citizens continue to face high inflation and serious economic difficulties while the government implements “cosmetic measures”.
In response to a media question, he said Jamaat-E-Islami planned to send a letter to the United Nations Secretary General in the coming months, documenting an alleged Israeli assault and seeking to arouse global conscience.
He also urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to clarify reports on a Pakistani delegation which would have visited Israel. If such people exist, he said, they should be detained and interviewed that has authorized their journey, who, according to him, contradicts the official foreign policy of Pakistan.
He called on religious scholars, including Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Muneebur Rehman, to issue Sharia law concerning the concept of jihad in the context of Israeli actions in Gaza.
He said such religious leadership could influence Muslim leaders to take concrete measures to defend the Palestinians.
