Website builder Jimdo has just introduced an AI-powered chatbot designed to help solopreneurs and microbusinesses with their daily operations.
In a press release issued on November 19, Jimdo introduced Companion, an AI chatbot deeply integrated into the product architecture and designed to provide personalized and prioritized recommendations. The product can analyze each company’s performance history, industry benchmarks and competitive landscape, to improve visibility and improve transactions.
This can mean a myriad of things, from suggesting specific local search engine optimization efforts to taking concrete steps to improve conversion rates. To get these context-specific answers, users will need to ask strategic questions and treat Companion like a personalized business strategist, available on demand.
This also means that Companion will have access to key business data, including information that could be considered sensitive. Jimdo therefore claims that the AI tool is GDPR compliant and adds that it is also connected to both Google and Meta.

While the press release doesn’t discuss pricing or availability, a blog post on the company’s website suggests that Companion is now available to all paying users.
There also appears to be an option to test the product for free.

Most website builders have already integrated generative AI into their offering, allowing users to create entire websites, from design to copy, by conversing with software. It remains to be seen how effective these websites will be.
