THE Westties is an upcoming drama of MGM +, and JK Simmons is exploited to direct it.
According to DeadlineThe story is based on a true story, and it was ordered in March 2025 with the Showrunners Chris Brancato and Michael Paneful.
The Oscar winner will play Eamon Sweeney. His character is explained as “the charismatic but ruthless leader of the Westies”.
One of the showrunners, Chris, praised the cast of Spider star. “JK Simmons does not only play authority – he radiates it. We are lucky to have an actor who brings the gravity and the danger that this world requires.”
The line line of the series can be read as follows: “The series takes place in the early 1980s when the construction of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center on the Grass at Home of the Westies in Hell’s Kitchen promises a financial windfall.
“Although it was exceeded from fifty to one per five families of the Italian mafia, brutality and legendary ruse of the Westies gave them the lever effect necessary to share the booty through fragile relaxation,” continued the synopsis.
“But the internal conflict between the young impetuous generation and the leadership of the old school threatens to fix a match on this powder barrel, which will sweep the Westies in the always deep investigation of the FBI on the Italian mafia,” he added.
