The former NFL star, Joe Theismann, will enter the American Century 2025 championship as one of the veterans of the Celebrity golf tournament.
Although Washington Redskins’ former quarter-rear won the Korbel Hole-In-One competition at the Edgewood Tahe Golf Club, he told PK Press Club Digital that he was as excited as ever to be part of the tournament this year.

“I played in 35 out of 36 (tournaments),” he said. “I certainly turn these days. The American championship of the century was incredible with regard to competition, the people you are lucky enough to be there.”
Theismann also underlined the charity of the American Century championship. Millions of dollars are collected during the festivities for the benefit of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and the EAT. Learn. Play. Foundation.
“American Century is organizing an excellent week for their customers and for all of us. They have karaoke nights, and they have good dinners where you are lucky to interact and see people you have not really seen,” said Theismann. “My wife and I are really looking forward to it. You learn so much.”

He said he had been able to talk to Buffalo Bills Josh Allen about his 2023 season last year and delighted to speak with actor Miles Teller.
“‘Top Gun: Maverick’ is one of my favorite films in the world. So I had the chance to see it last year. I was like a little child,” he said, laughing. “He was on the striking range of the balls. I didn’t want to bother him, but I wanted to say hello.”

Theismann was not embarrassed to admit that he was a bit of a “fanboy” with regard to Teller.
“I’m not embarrassed,” he told PK Press Club Digital. “There are some people I have met. I had the chance to meet people, whether heads of state, heads of countries, many presidents, CEOs, some of the most incredible people in the world I had the chance to meet and be able to continue to look at people and really see the person.”
Theismann was tied with Joe Flacco and Jason Scheff last year and tied to 46th with AJ Hawk and Seth Curry in 2023.
This year, he hopes an improvement, although he admitted that his game becomes shorter and shorter over the years.

Theismann said fans can also participate in the action with a fantastic game that has been developed for the tournament. He said fans can start registering next week, the winner obtaining two tickets for next year tournament and a check for $ 10,000 to the charity of their choice.
The event is a stable format of 54 holes in which golfers earn points for each hole depending on the peer score. The golfer who reaches the most points wins.
The tournament starts on July 9 and takes place until July 13.
