John Candy’s son Chris shot on a certain rope, sharing the probable reaction of his late father to the documentary, John Candy: I love myself.
In a recent conversation with People During a special screening of the next documentary on the life of John Candy at the Montalban Theater of Los Angeles, the son of the late actor shared his reflections on what his father would have seen the film.
“I think he would be uncomfortable, but he is a guy who did not like to go to his own first films,” said Chris at the point of sale.
Candy’s son, aged 41, added: “I hope, however, that the 2025 John Candy, he would have worked enough on himself to agree with himself, and then I know he loved himself, but yes, I think that in this early phase, he would probably have felt a little uncomfortable about the thing these days.”
John Candy: I love myself which is produced by Ryan Reynolds, is ready to go out on Amazon Prime video October 10.
Chris also revealed that he had learned a lot about his father and his life during the cinema.
“I think the thing that has stood out the most for me was the influence that his comedy had on actors that I grew up [watching]”Chris shared.
“I loved Conan O’Brien, Mr. Show with Bob and David, the children in the room. To hear Conan O’brien talk about how he was a direct influence, my father on him, then for me to be a fan of sound – to see the connective tissue that my father had in the field of comedy was really an overwhelming feeling.”
