The temple of renown of professional football John Elway broke his silence on Wednesday evening after his longtime agent, Jeff Sperbeck, died of injuries suffered in a golf cart accident in California.
“I am absolutely devastated and my heart broken by the death of my close friend, trading partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck,” Elway said in a statement, via ESPN.
“There are no words to really express the deep sadness that I feel with the sudden loss of someone who has mean so much for me.

“My heart and my deepest sympathies go to Jeff’s wife, Cori; her children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and all those who knew and loved him. Jeff will miss it deeply for loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love he has brought to my life and the life of so many others.”
Sperbeck died early Wednesday at the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, a few days after the accident on Saturday at the Quinta, confirmed the Coroner office of the County of Riverside. Sperbeck was 62 years old.
Elway led the golf cart and Sperbeck fell and hit the head on Asphalt, TMZ reported earlier on Wednesday. Sperbeck was subjected to life after the accident.
Sperbeck was sitting in the passenger seat of the golf cart, according to ESPN.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Bureau launched an investigation, and there was no indication that Elway conducted the golf cart recklessly, TMZ reported.
Sperbeck became the Elway manager in 1990 and represented hundreds of NFL players through several agencies.
Some of its other customers included the temple of renown Ronnie Lott and Jim Plunkett.
In 2015, Elway and Sperbeck founded 7celars, which produced premium wines from Central California and Napa Valley.
