- Resistance scale decoding for more natural and organic audio
- Excellent connectivity both in and outside

If you want your music to take you higher, Fiio just has the thing: a scale. Its new DAC K13 R2R contains resistant scale decoding technology that promises to provide a luxurious audio experience – and there is a porthole on the top so that you can take a look at electronics while you appreciate their production.
The resistance scale is a table of resistance “meticulously designed” which, according to Fiio, decodes the audio with a more natural and organic sound, and it was twinned with the algorithm for the proprietary error of the company to provide precise correspondence and linearity with an ultra-faible distortion. FIIO believes that the result combines sound accuracy with warmth and natural flow.
FIIO K13 R2R DAC: Key characteristics and price
The K13 R2R has an FPGA system (Field door holder network) + DSP which takes care of the treatment, overchanting and blocking of the digital signal, and it supports PCM up to 1536 KHz and DSD1024.
With 2,400 MW of power, the K13 R2R can manage sensitive IEMs and full power planar headphones, and there are selectable gain levels capable of propeling headphones with resistance to 600 ohms.
There are outputs of XLR helmets and 4.4 mm balanced, a 6.35 mm helmet socket at balanced and mono-ending lines for active monitors, making it a very flexible DAC. FIIO says that it is not only a DAC but a platform: it has an XMOS XU316 USB receiver and has USB, Optics, Co-Axes and I² inputs to provide very wide connectivity and compatibility.
The new FIIO K13 R2R will be sold this month, September 2025, with an RRP of $ 319 / £ 279 / € 319 (around $ 570 in).
