Judge Mansoor Ali Shah becomes the CJP acting in rare ceremony of Eid Day

Islamabad:

The most principal judge of the Supreme Court, judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, took an oath as an acting chief in Pakistan on Saturday, during an unprecedented ceremony held on Eid day in the register of Lahore of the Supreme Court.

The oath was administered by judge Ayesha A. Malik, marking a rare event where the Escure of the best judicial office of the country took place outside the Federal capital and during a public holiday.

The ceremony was assisted by judge of the judges of the Supreme Court Shahid Waheed, judge Aamer Farooq, judge Shahid Bilal Hassan and judge Ali Baqar Najafi. Advocate General Punjab Amjad Pervez, as well as several upper members of the legal brotherhood, were also present.

Judge Mansoor Ali Shah will serve as an acting chief until June 10, in the absence of chief judge Yahya Afridi, who is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj. Judge Isa is expected to resume his return on his return next week.
