Jamiat Ulema-Elam-Fazl (JUI-F) spokesperson has strongly criticized the government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on a letter concerning a security threat to the Party leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
According to the spokesperson for Jui-F Aslam Ghauri, the letter from the KP government concerning the security threat to Maulana Fazlur Rehman is alarming.
He urged the government to fulfill its responsibilities instead of spreading fear and panic. He also said that after the success of peace Jirga in Peshawar, the KP government had become anxious.
“The government must clarify which measures have been taken to ensure the security of the Chief Jui-F. If he cannot fulfill his responsibility, he should admit his failure. Jeu-F workers know how to protect their leadership,” said Aslam Ghauri.
The spokesman also said that each attempt to distribute the party and their people’s leadership would be countered. He accused the government of having instilled fear among the public by publishing such declarations after political rallies.
He stressed that the government is responsible for ensuring the security of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and all other citizens. “Our call for peace and stability should not be confused with weakness,” he said, demanding that the government guarantee the security of the management of Jeu-F.
Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman received a police security threatening warning, citing potential risks for her life.
According to the letter, Fazlur Rehman has been alerted to security problems in KP, where terrorists can target it because of its religious and political activities.
Sources indicate that the DI Khan police advised Fazlur Rehman and his party to restrict their movements and ensure strict security measures.
Police urged Fazlur Rehman to take precautionary measures and immediately inform the relevant authorities of any unusual activity.
