Islamabad:
Last month experienced a slight increase in militant violence, following a brief decline in the previous month, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) said its monthly report on Friday.
The report indicates that 82 militant attacks were recorded across the country in July, leading to the death of 101 people and injuries to 150 others.
Among those who died during these attacks 47 were civilians, 36 members of security personnel and 18 activists.
On the other hand, the report indicates that June saw 78 militant attacks, resulting in 100 deaths and 189 injuries.
The July figures indicated a 5% increase in militant attacks compared to the previous month, added the report.
KHYBER-PAKHTUNKHWA (KP) remained the epicenter of such attacks, bringing the weight of 53 assaults. It was followed by Balutchistan with 28 attacks.
According to the report, no militant incident has been reported to Punjab, Sindh, Azad Jammu and Cashmere (AJK), or to the territory of the capital Islamabad (ICT).
The report also highlighted the counter-military operations intensified by the security forces, which led to the murder of 106 activists and the arrest of 69 alleged agents in July. (With News Desk entry)
