Junaid Akbar warns against the roadblocks if they were arrested during the PTI protest

Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, President, Junaid Akbar, said that the next party will not imply any negotiations with public institutions.

“Unlike previous demonstrations, the PTI management will not engage in talks if demonstrations take place,” he said.

Speaking during an event in Malakand, Akbar warned that if it was arrested, key routes, including the Silk Road, the Pak-Afghan Road, the Highway and the GT road will be completely blocked.

He added that he had advised the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, to appoint a provincial president who has good links with chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Akbar promised to eliminate the culture of the purchase of celebration and influence by money.

He said he had not received any direct instruction from Imran Khan concerning the organizational structure of PTI, but would continue to work with existing configurations.

The PTI chief also criticized people who “invest massively in political rallies”, later claiming to “exploit the system” for financial gains.

He warned that officials of the abolition of PTI workers after the May 9 demonstrations would face consequences if his party returns to power.

Akbar specifically targeted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, walking reprisals.

“If the children of Shehbaz Sharif do not suffer from our government, I will leave PTI,” he said, reaffirming a hard approach to the party’s future confrontations.

The talks between the government and the PTI ended Friday after the latter rejected the offer of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to take over the talks.

PTI moved away from the discussions, demanding the training of judicial commissions to investigate the incidents of May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024 before continuing the talks.

At a meeting of the federal office, the Prime Minister had previously declared that the government was open to the formation of a parliamentary committee to resume discussions with PTI, unlike the request of PTI for separate judicial commissions to investigate Incidents of May 9, 2023 and November 26, 2024, incidents.

He underlined the need for a dialogue to move forward, urging that he was crucial for the country’s progress and to avoid other damage caused by violent protests.

The Prime Minister also referred to the own decision of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan to establish a parliamentary committee to investigate the 2018 general elections instead of setting up a judicial commission. He added that he was also ready to build a chamber committee to advance the talks even after PTI “fled” talks before obtaining an official response on the government side.
