Justin Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman described the legal battle of Blake Lively “far from the end” after two prosecutions filed by the director were dismissed before the court earlier this week.
The remark came during the interview of the lawyer on Live TMZ This Tuesday, questioned on the reaction of Baldoni to the Tuesday verdict.
“What was Justin’s reaction on this subject? The same as my reaction, what is: it is not fair. It’s not good. I think it is a person who wants to be justified, and that is all that holds,” started Freedman.
Freedman added that they “were not satisfied” of the decision of the judge of June 9 to throw the counter-communion and that the legal battle between the two actors is “so far from finishing, let’s say it in this way”.
“He knows who he is. He knows what he has done. He knows what he did not do. And he wants the truth to come out, and he wants to do it in the appropriate way. He is waiting for his day in court, where he can speak to tell the truth.”
Freedman has doubled their response to complaints of sexual harassment and Lively reprisal against Baldoni and the Wayfarer studios, saying that his accusations are “completely false” and that Lively is “afraid of the truth”.
“The truth will be shown through depositions, which will be the next one,” he said, adding that he had sent an opinion to carry out the lively deposit in June.
“We are going to advance the case, and we will show that there was no sexual harassment, and we will show that there was no smear campaign. It is really as simple as that. It is unhappy to be wrongly accused here,” said Freedman.
Freedman’s statement comes after Lively’s lawyer Mike Gottlieb celebrated the victory in an interview on June 9 on Cnn.
“I think that today is a message according to which this kind of pursuing reprisals which are really designed to silence and punish the people who are expressed will not work. They will not work. They will not be tolerated by our judicial system and they will not succeed,” Gottlieb told the host Jake Tapper.
He added that the actress is “determined to see her claims through and pursue them to have complete public accounting of what she presumed to have happened to her”.
The remarks come after the judge Lewis J. Liman granted requests on June 9 to reject the counter-compliance of $ 400 million in Baldoni against Lively and Reynolds and the defamation trial of $ 250 million against The New York Times For its cover of the Lively complaint in December 2024.
The Baldoni legal team has a deadline of June 23 to modify complaints for violation of the implicit alliance and tort interference in the contract.
