President Donald Trump welcomes the popular FC of the Juventus Italian football club at the White House on Wednesday, while the team is in the United States for the Club World Cup.
During the visit, while the players stood behind Trump’s office in the oval office, Trump addressed the subject of transgender athletes in female sports during a long diatribe on former president Joe Biden.

“He has never been on the open border, and you think he has never been for transgender for everyone, nor men playing in female sports,” said Trump.
The president then turned to face the players of Juventus and asked a question.
“Could a woman do your team, guys?” He asked.
The players have all exchanged looks, but none gave an answer.
The president then turned to the director general of the team, Damien Comolli, and asked the same question.
“We have a very good female team,” said Comolli.
But Trump pressed Comolli, repeating the question: “But should they play with women?”
Comolli did not offer an answer at that time.
“You see, they are very diplomatic,” laughed Trump.

Trump made the fight against trans athletes in female and girls sports a key pillar of the agenda of his second administration.
Trump signed the decree of “keeping men away from female sports” on February 5 after campaigning strongly on the issue in 2024. The order prompted NCAA to modify its gender eligibility policy to allow biological women to compete in the category of women.
However, Trump’s decree encountered solid resistance by Democratic Heads of State across the country.
Trump’s administration is already engaged in a trial against Maine and was continued by the Attorney General of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, on the issue. Federal surveys on title IX have also been opened on the sports leagues of the Massachusetts and Massachusetts high school.

Of the 2,128 people who participated, 79% said that biological men who identify themselves as women should not be allowed to participate in female sports. Of the 1,025 people who have identified as a democrats or who lean a democrat, 67% said that transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with women. Among 1,022 Republicans, this number was 94%.
