Kai Trumph, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, was criticized for her recent vlog in which she brought her Secret Service along to run errands.
For context, President Trump described this Los Angeles-based chain of stores, considered high-end, as “the most expensive grocery store on the market.”
Kai Trump, who is often seen wandering around the White House because of her grandfather, President Donald Trump, with whom she shares a common sport: golf.
Kai is an amateur golfer who recently made his debut in The Annika tournament in November last year.
The golfer and YouTuber uploaded the vlog on Women’s Day, March 8, with the caption “I took my secret service to Erewhon.”
While complaining about high prices, Trump said in the video, “Everything is super expensive,” as she filled her shopping cart with items like sushi, a $14 bottle of water and a $16 jar of dates.
Kai at one point appears to clarify to her audience that she is not a shopaholic, saying, “Guys, one thing about me is I don’t spend a lot of money. Like I’m very… I don’t spend a lot.”
What sparked a backlash about the posted vlog was his joking comment, saying, “I’m going to have to file for bankruptcy,” which has so far garnered over 343,000 views since it was uploaded.
Kai Trump enjoys a huge following on social media, having amassed over 1.46 million followers on YouTube alone.
For the uninitiated, Kai Trump is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump.
