The gas supply to Karachi is expected to improve during Sehri’s hours according to emergency measures taken from the Prime Minister’s directives, the acting director general of Suit Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced on Monday.
Amin Rajput, the MD of SSGC actor, said that the offer has already shown improvement and stabilizes more from today.
Insurance comes after residents reported severe gas shortages on Sunday, disturbing household routines during Ramadan.
In Peshawar, the Director General of the SSGC, Waqas Shinwari, said that 100 mmcfd of gas had been provided during Sehri and 110 mmcfd during Iftar, without any low -pressure complaint reported.
The company said that it had inspected gas pressure in all areas to ensure that food has reached all households during peak hours.
Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif intervened to solve the current problems of gas supply during Sehri and Iftar during the month of Ramadan, leading an immediate action to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted gas flow during critical hours.
During an emergency meeting at the end of the evening, the Prime Minister summoned discussions with the general directors and the senior management of the SSGC and SNGPL to solve the problems of low gas pressure and disruptions in service.
Following the meeting, SUTHERN GAS COMPANY announced a 10% increase in gas pressure to ensure better delivery during peak hours.
In addition, the gas supply of the areas located at the end of the distribution networks will start 30 to 45 minutes before Sehri and Iftar, helping to improve pressure in these regions.
To monitor the situation more, Su Southern announced the creation of control rooms at head office and regional offices.
These rooms will supervise the daily gas supply situation, ensuring that complaints related to low pressure are quickly processed and resolved in an emergency.
