Earlier, a seven-year-old boy, Sarim, who had been missing from Baitul Anam Apartments in North Karachi since January 7, was found dead in the compound’s underground water tank on Saturday.

Despite extensive search efforts by his family, the police and the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), including raids and the detention of a suspect, no clues have been found regarding his whereabouts.

During the search, a fraudulent ransom demand was sent via WhatsApp, adding to the family’s distress. Sarim’s body was discovered with multiple notes of injuries, suggesting torture.

Post mortem confirmed the injuries and the exact cause of death is pending chemical analysis. The discovery shocked the community, with Sarim’s parents deeply grieving.
