Residents of the Karachi Ramswami region organized a violent demonstration on Sunday evening until Monday morning, taking the electric office K near the garden seat on a prolonged power outage.
The demonstrators broke the stones of the office of K-Electric and broke the windows of two mini-camons parked outside, said Express News.
Some demonstrators also hit the vehicles with sticks. Noisy songs against K-Electric and the Sindh government echoed in the area while frustrations were showing up.
The residents said that the power supply of their locality had been suspended since 7 am on Sunday, and despite repeated complaints, no measure has been taken.
With the temperatures that skyrocket, many complained of deteriorating the conditions at home, affecting in particular children, the elderly and the sick.
The breakdown also sparked a serious shortage of water, exacerbating the misfortunes of residents.
The demonstrators accused K-Esquiver electric staff calls to their assistance line and said that no senior official was available at the office to tackle their grievances.
“We are continuously mentioned,” said a resident.
“They say that the failure is due to cable defects, but no repair has been made. If someone falls seriously ill or worse, K-Electric will be held responsible and that we will deposit an official case.”
Later, the police arrived at the scene and assured the crowd that efforts were underway to restore power.
Residents dispersed after insurance, but warned that they would return to protest on Monday morning if electricity was not restored.
K-Electric has not yet published an official declaration on the incident.
