More than 80 kilos of unsanitary chicken meat seized, two suspects arrested during the operation
Police found horrendous trafficking in the city’s Moosa Colony, where meat from dead chickens was allegedly processed and supplied to fast food outlets, biryani stalls and hotels, posing a serious threat to public health.
According to Express News, Gulberg police, based on secret information, raided a warehouse near the railway crossing in Moosa Colony on Sunday and seized over 80 kilograms of unsanitary chicken meat. Two suspects – Anwar, son of Idrees, and Kamal, son of Manan – were arrested.
This search followed information that dead poultry was stored in the warehouse. Acting on this information, law enforcement agencies, in coordination with the Sindh Food Control Authority (SFCA), launched an operation to recover spoiled meat and dead whole chickens from the premises.
