Earlier, the start of the Tsunami Warning Center in Karachi confirmed that a total of 19 gentle tremors had been recorded since Sunday evening – an unprecedented event in the history of the city.
The strongest earthquake recorded at 3.6 magnitude, while the weakest was measured at 2.1.
Experts attribute the unusual seismic model to changes in tectonic plates under the region. It is believed that the tremors result from the release of built energy due to the seismic movement at low underground intensity.
The authorities continue to monitor the situation, while urging the public to remain calm and follow the security guidelines.
