ISLAMABAD:
The government has decided to connect the holy places of Kartarpur and Nankana Sahib with the national highway network.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan chaired a meeting and directed the NHA to start construction of the Sialkot-Kartarpur Expressway, which will be named as ‘Guru Nanak Expressway’.
The minister stressed that 3, 4 and 5 star hotels will be developed along the highway to facilitate the movement of pilgrims. To encourage investment from the global Sikh community, the NHA will launch international marketing campaigns in London, Canada and the United States.
