Kashmiris observe ‘Black Day’ on Indian Republic Day

Mirpur:

Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LOC) and the world marked India’s Republic Day on Sunday as ‘Black Day’ to protest against occupation and human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

These annual protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), IIOJK and elsewhere, are a reiteration of the strong outrage and resistance of Kashmiris against Indian rule, and the continued brutalities against innocent Kashmiris by Indian forces .

In AJK, protest rallies and demonstrations were held in all 10 districts, with a major rally in the state metropolis, attended by leaders of various political parties and members of the Legislative Assembly of the AJK.

Similar protests have also been organized in other parts of the world, including Pakistan, to condemn India’s occupation and human rights abuses in Kashmir and the continued denial of their democratic right to freedom. self-determination.

In IIOJK, the day was marked by a complete shutdown amid increased restrictions in the name of security measures, which sent a clear message to the international community that India had no moral stand to celebrate its Day of the Republic.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has called on the international community to take note of the worsening situation in IIOJK and put pressure on India to peacefully resolve the Kashmir dispute.
