Kate Middleton admires one of the royal family’s boldest members as she stands firm on her decision regarding the next phase of the royal family.
The Princess of Wales is a loving mother of three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – and has not hesitated to prioritize her interests over royal tradition. Protection of children is a particular trait that Princess Diana, who had a more rebellious streak within the Firm, shares with her daughter-in-law.
Even though Kate is known for honoring royal protocol and tradition to the T, the future queen appeared to put her foot down for Prince George, as Diana once did for Prince William and Prince Harry.
While it was reported that George would be heading to the prestigious Eton College in September next year, Kate wanted her son to enroll at his alma mater Marlborough College. Kate did not have a pleasant experience at Eton and found that she flourished at Marlborough.
However, The telegraph latest report which implied the 12-year-old royal was heading to Marlborough.
The decision appears reminiscent of that taken by Diana, a major break in royal tradition after seeing how unhappy her husband Charles was at Gordonstoun, according to the book Dianaworld: An Obsession written by author Edward White.
The headmaster of Gordonstoun had “publicly insisted that the princes should receive a comprehensive state education”, but Diana “rejected all such suggestions”. She “insisted that the boys be sent to board at Eton College”, as all the men in her family had attended the school.
