Katy Perry would have asked for $ 5 million in damages after having marked a major victory in the legal battle against the entrepreneur Carl Westcott.
According to the latest report People magazineOrlando Bloom’s former girlfriend, appeared in court on August 26 to testify in the current legal dispute surrounding his $ 15 million manor.
The point of sale said that Katy Perry had joined the procedure of the Los Angeles court via Zoom, answering questions on the purchase in 2020 of the California domain of the 1930s.
For those who do not know, Perry and ex Orlando Bloom bought the property from the entrepreneur Carl Westcott, who is also the founder of 1 to 800 flowers.
Later, Westcott received a diagnosis of Huntington’s disease in 2015, and he therefore sought to cancel the contract, saying that he “lacked capacity” to sign the transaction.
He also filed a complaint against the commercial director of Perry, Bernie Gudvi, in August 2020.
After a legal battle of several years, Perry prevailed during a previous trial on the question of responsibility, and in May 2024, she officially acquired the property of the County of Santa Barbara through her LLC, reported Ddoveb, the Wall Street Journal.
The judge ruled that Westcott presented “no persuasive evidence that he did not have the capacity to conclude a real estate contract”, noting that he seemed “coherent, committed, lucid and rational” at the signing.
The case has since been branched off, Perry now requesting more than $ 5 million in damages, including $ 3 million to cover the loss of rental income.
