Kazakh FM arrives today

Islamabad:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu will undertake an official visit to Pakistan from September 8 to 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday.

The visit is a precursor of the next Kazakh President’s state visit to Pakistan in November 2025, which should further deepen bilateral links.

According to the FO, Mr. Nurtleu will be accompanied by a high -level delegation of 13 members, including the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan.

The meetings of joint working groups on agriculture and information technologies will also take place on the sidelines of the trip.

During his stay in Islamabad, the vice-minister Kazakh and Minister of Foreign Affairs will hold a head-to-head meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Senator Ishaq Dar, followed by talks at the level of the delegation.

He must also call on the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The discussions will focus on the preparations for the presidential visit in November and will cover the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing trade and investment, agriculture, education, cultural and tourist exchanges, regional connectivity, logistics and collaboration with multilateral Fora.

Pakistan and Kazakhstan have long -rooted relationships rooted in history, culture and religion, the two countries being part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Islamabad considers Central Asia as a crucial partner for its vision of improved regional connectivity, especially in the Chinese-Pakistani Economic Corridor (CPEC), which could offer access to Kazakhstan landlocked to the Ports de la Mer d’Oman.

In recent years, both parties have worked to stimulate trade and exchanges from people to people. Current trade volumes remain modest, but those responsible think that there is a significant inexploited potential, in particular in agriculture, energy and connectivity of public transport.

The involvement of the Kazakhstan Minister of Transport in the delegation indicates an emphasis on the advancement of logistics and connectivity initiatives.

The FO has expressed his confidence that the visit “would further cement the links of Pakistan-Kazakhstan for a long time and would help to deepen bilateral commitments in various fields, for the benefit of the people of the two countries”.
