Separately, an attack on a police station in Bhag Nari area of Kachhi district left one martyr and two policemen injured, officials confirmed on Monday.
The blast in Turbat took place near the tehsildar’s office when the deputy commissioner was returning to his office.
The motorcycle filled with explosives detonated remotely, striking close to his vehicle. The powerful explosion caused panic among nearby residents and passers-by.
DC Basheer Ahmed Bareech remained unhurt, while the injured were quickly rushed to Turbat Civil Hospital for treatment.
Hospital authorities later confirmed that most of the victims were Levies staff members and that their condition was stable.
The day after the explosion, law enforcement officials (LEA) cordoned off the area and launched a large-scale search operation to find those responsible. Security in the town of Turbat was further strengthened to prevent possible further attacks.
Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen targeted Bhag police station with hand grenades and gunfire in Bhag Nari area of Kachhi district.
According to security sources, SHO Inspector Bhag Nari Lutf Ali Khosa, a native of Sohbatpur district, lost his life in the exchange of fire.
Police officials said security personnel on duty responded effectively, leading to the death of one of the attackers.
The other suspects managed to escape after a brief but intense shootout. The injured officers were transferred to a nearby hospital, where doctors described their condition as stable.
Following the attack, police and other LEAs cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the culprits of the assault. Authorities said an investigation had been opened to determine the motive and identity of those involved.
