Keegan Bradley has chosen not to select himself as a game captain for Team USA in the Ryder Cup next month.
Instead, the 39 -year -old man went with Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns as the choices of his captain.
Rory McILroy said earlier this month that he thought it would be too difficult to be a game captain, saying he had refused the idea of the future. Asked about McILroy’s comments, Bradley did not seem to have wanted to prove him the opposite.

“The decision was made some time ago that I did not play,” said Bradley, adding that it was 100% certain that it was the right choice.
“I am not at all worried about what they do or say. I care about our team. I don’t really know how he knows it. I said through this process, I would like to be able to call Arnold Palmer and get his advice. The simple fact is that the Ryder Cup is an animal different from that of the 60s … I said through this process that I was doing what was best for the team.”
Bradley participated in the Ryder Cups 2012 and 2014 (which were both losses). In 2023, he was the 11th American golfer (12 players made the team), but Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas were chosen from him (Cameron Young was also jumped despite the ninth classification).

But in July of last year, it was announced that Bradley would take the place of Zach Johnson as captain of the American team.
The chatter of being a game captain became strong after Bradley won the Travelers championship, a tournament he won in 2023, in an incredibly creaky way. He sorted on the 18th while Team Europe mainstay Tommy Fleetwood in Bugeyed. This placed him in the top 10 points Fedex Cup, and he recently impressed by a T7 in the Tour championship – he is currently the 11th player in the world.
President Donald Trump supported Bradley as captain of the US Ryder Cup team on Saturday evening.
“Keegan Bradley should certainly be part of the American Ryder Cup team – as captain !!!” The president said. “He’s an incredible guy. He will be a big Ryder Cup. At the invitation of the PGA Tour, I will be there the tournament on Friday !!!”

Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, JJ Spaun, Harris English and Bryson Dechambeau all automatically qualified.
The Ryder Cup will start on September 26. The road team has not won since 2012 with the miracle in Medinah, each of the last five Ryder cups being won in a rather convincing manner by the home team.
