The former host of ESPN and MSNBC, Keith Olbermann, has extended his torrent of controversial attacks on social networks this week, this time targeting the current ESPN star, Stephen A. Smith.
Smith weighed on ABC’s decision to withdraw Jimmy Kimmel indefinitely for the recent remarks on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, during an episode of his podcast on Thursday. Smith criticized his colleague from Walt Disney Corporation, Kimmel.
“Where was the joke? Because you are a host at the end of the evening – and obviously, that has a comic attachment. Where was the joke? Obviously, it was not funny about this,” said Smith about the joke of Kimmel who had him removed.
Olbermann condemned Smith for criticizing Kimmel, suggesting that sports expertise “will prostitute himself to the right wing”.
