Kelly Clarkson Shares Raw Confessions About Her Parental Regrets

Kelly Clarkson’s brutally honest message to her 11-year-old daughter

Kelly Clarkson gets honest about parenting regrets and mistakes.

During a recent chat with actress Mariska Hargitay on Wednesday, October 15, the singer and host opened up about her honest confession to her 11-year-old daughter, River Rose.

“I constantly look at my daughter and say, ‘Look, I’m doing the best I can,’” Clarkson said. “I know you’re going to end up in therapy one day. I don’t know why, but I’m trying my best to limit that. Just like, help me.”

The loving mother of two shared that as children grow with age, they understand their parents and the decisions they make.

“It’s interesting too. As you get older, you understand even though those may not have been good decisions for you,” Clarkson continued.

She added: “You understand them in a different light and you become a parent. You have a little more empathy than maybe you had in your 20s.”

Clarkson shares nine-year-old son Remington and Rose with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who died earlier in August from cancer.

A source told People after Blackstock’s death The Kelly Clarkson Show the host was “heartbroken” for his children.

“Kelly and Brandon have had their ups and downs, but at the end of the day, he was the father of her children and she is heartbroken for them. Her children are her whole world, and she remains strong for them,” the source shared.
