Key suspect in Liam Payne death released from prison amid health fears

Braian Paiz, one of two men charged in the death of Liam Payne, has been released from prison and remains in custody.

The waiter had been in jail since January after being accused of giving the former One Direction singer cocaine before his death.

A higher court later agreed to let him return home after his lawyers said his health had changed significantly and his family situation had worsened.

However, the court ordered Braian to stay inside his home and wear an electronic ankle monitor.

Previously, judges had refused to release him, with prosecutors saying he might flee if released.

This time, appeals judges ruled that strict supervision was sufficient while the case continued, on which prosecutors had no comment.

The main suspect admitted to using drugs with the No Tears singer at a Buenos Aires hotel, but denied selling anything, saying he was wrongly blamed.

In prison, Braian said he was mistreated by other comrades, saying he was beaten, burned with hot water and threatened.

He also shared that prisoners called him a “killer” and made him fear for his life.

Additionally, Braian was later transferred to a special LGBT prison area with better conditions.

The waiter’s mother said the affair caused serious money problems for the family, forcing them to sell their business and move to a poorer house.

For those who don’t know, the second defendant, former hotel employee Ezequiel David Pereyra, remained in prison.

It is unclear whether he would also request house arrest.

Both men are still on trial and face long prison sentences if found guilty.
