The Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, has expressed a warning that the rise in tensions with India could push the region dangerously near nuclear conflicts, because Islamabad turns out to be a deadly cross -border aggression that she labeled a “blatant act of war”.

In an interview with Geo News Asif Wednesday warned that the risk of climbing was “very real”, after India’s air strikes on Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the morning.

The coordinated attacks targeted at least six sites, including mosques and infrastructure projects, killing 31 civilians and injuring at least 71, according to inter-service public relations (ISPR).

“This region has already faced nuclear threats before – and we could head to another strategic dead end,” said the minister. “India is going through a major internal crisis, and its aggression brings into play the peace and security of the region.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the situation in the National Assembly, condemning what he described as “the assault without spin in India in night death”. He praised the armed forces for their fast and decisive reprisals. “With the help of Allah and the prayers of our people, our soldiers have given an adapted response,” he said.

In significant military development, the Pakistan armed forces have shot down five Indian hunting planes in retaliatory strikes. According to the ISPR, the slaughtered plane included three gusts, a su-30mki and a mig-29. In addition, Pakistan would have destroyed an Indian brigade headquarters, several control posts and a drone.

The director general of the ISPR, the lieutenant-general, Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that all the planes of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) returned safely after having started Indian targets. He added that intense bombardments continued along the control line, where Pakistani troops actively aimed at the Indian military positions.
