Killing Her Family Dog Helped Kristi Noem Rise to Power: Here’s How

US President Donald Trump considers Kristi Noem an asset to his cabinet because she killed his family dog, according to an explosive new book.

NBC journalist Julia Ainsley’s next book, Abusive Process: The Inside Story of Trump’s Mass Deportationwhich was discussed in The Atlantic, claims President Trump chose Kristi Noem as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to lead the anti-migration crackdown because of her history of shooting her “untrainable” family dog.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem revealed that she killed her family’s dog, calling it a “responsible parent, dog owner and neighbor” story.

In her memoir, published in 2024, Noem told the story of her animal killing, stating that she euthanized a goat the same day she shot her dog.

The former South Dakota governor also admitted to shooting three horses in another incident, while saying “we love animals.”

Ainsley’s book is based on extensive research and cites sources within DHS.

His book corroborates the The Wall Street Journal report that DHS was in a constant state of chaos.

Insiders told the outlet that Secretary Noem is focused more on her personal celebrity and less on her work, adding, “She has a penchant for setting up photo ops with officials holding guns.”

Kristi Noem has yet to respond to the report published in The Atlantic.
