Kim Kardashian is once again the target of backlash after sharing a new update about her pets, following heavy criticism from animal rights organization PETA.
The 45-year-old socialite took to Instagram and shared a photo of four Pomeranian puppies, writing: “Welcome to the family.”
THE Keeping Up With the Kardashians The star didn’t share any further details about the new additions to her family, but social media was set ablaze.
Many fingers pointed at the SKIM founder asking, “Kim, why would we do that,” citing the Kardashians’ history of buying new pets that “disappear in a few months.”
One comment read: “Please adopt from the Humane Society – please – so many dogs and cats need homes – please Kim,” while a third added: “They are not props. Please treat them with kindness and respect.”
Several followers asked about the four puppies the mother of four got for each of her children this Christmas, asking: “Where are the other four? What happened to them?”
At the time, PETA co-founder Ingrid Newkirk issued a scathing criticism of Kardashian, saying: “Puppies are not stuffed animals. It’s a shame that Kim missed the opportunity to be a spokesperson for shelter puppies. Ignoring the homeless animal crisis is inexcusable.”
The reality TV star has not responded to the criticism.
