King Charles and Queen Camilla celebrate royal travel paintings

King Charles and Queen Camilla attended an exhibition on Wednesday celebrating 40 years of artists accompanying official visits abroad.

The exhibition presented the art of 43 artists who joined the king during 70 official visits in 95 countries and regions, said Buckingham Palace.

In a well -established tradition, the Royals personally select and finance an artist to accompany them during visits abroad.

After each tour, Charles acquired at least one job as part of his private collection, said the palace.

The royal family has shared a video of the king’s visit and the queen with a legend who said: “In the past 40 years, the king has instructed an artist to accompany him on each of his official tours abroad. This diverse selection of painters was able to observe and capture unique moments and extraordinary locations from 70 official visits through 95 countries and regions.”

“Today, the artists were celebrated during an event to mark this significant year, with a selection of works of art exhibited in the ballroom in Buckingham Palace.”

“This summer, visitors to Buckingham Palace state rooms will be able to see a special exhibition, The King’s Tour Artists, with more than 70 works of art from the its own’s own collection, a lot for the first time.
