King Charles gently steers Prince William toward an unwanted royal destiny

King Charles has no choice but to abdicate his throne in favor of Prince William due to his battle with cancer, a source has revealed.

The monarch’s current cancer treatment has accelerated William’s plans to take the throne, and the transition could take place “sooner than expected,” according to a new report.

Talk with New Ideas Magazinea royal reporter revealed the king had to accept “limitations” during his treatment, with the Prince of Wales taking on more responsibility.

While William had hoped to become king much later in life, Charles’ cancer will allow him to ascend the throne within a year or two, an insider speculated.

“[The King] had to accept limitations during his cancer treatment,” said American royal journalist Sally Bedell Smith. “As a result, William took on more responsibility.”

Sharing William’s stance on the issue, the source said the Prince of Wales “had always hoped to inherit the crown much later in life, when his children were well into their adulthood.”

“But Charles must unfortunately gently steer William towards the eventual acceptance of a different destiny,” they added.

“The only upside to all of this is that if Charles steps aside to focus on his health, he will have the valuable and rare experience of seeing his son become king.”
