King Charles shocks royal observers by acting against his brother: ‘Ruthless’

King Charles branded ‘ruthless’ after stripping Prince Andrew of royal titles

King Charles has made one of his toughest decisions yet by stripping Prince Andrew’s royal and military titles and asking him to leave his home at Royal Lodge.

Talk with GB NewsRoyal expert Jennie Bond said she was “stunned” by the decision, calling it the most “ruthless and decisive” action she had seen in more than 30 years of covering the royal family.

Bond said the move shows how seriously the king takes the growing public and political pressure surrounding his brother.

She said: “I have been reporting on the royal family for more than three decades, including Diana’s death, and this is a crisis beyond anything I have covered before.

“King Charles is not a ruthless man, but it must be said, this is a ruthless action,” added the expert.

Andrew would now be called Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and will soon be leaving his Royal Lodge.

“King Charles is not a ruthless man,” she said, adding: “But you have to say it, this is a ruthless action.

“To remove the title of prince from his brother and demand that he leave the Royal Lodge, of which he had a fairly secure lease, that surprised me.

“I arrived this evening at this news and was stunned, but I think the clamor of the public, the press and Parliament was heard by the king.

“I also think when he was out earlier this week and heard someone in the crowd heckling him about what he knew about Andrew, that was definitely a step too far.”
