King Charles won Hearts as he celebrated the success of the mentoring program for the employment of refugees during a reception of the Buckingham Palace.
The monarch welcomed refugee professionals from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and Ethiopia at the reception.
According to L’Express, The refugees had participated in a program which associated them with members of the royal house who work in similar professions.
During the event, Charles spoke with the mentories and the members of the Refugee Employment Network and also listened to their experiences and learned how the program helped them resume their careers.
Speaking with the publication, Jenny Walton, CEO of the Refugee Employment Network, expressed her gratitude to the monarch.
“The objective of the mentoring program is to deal with undressing,” she said.
“We work specifically with people who have come to this country who have been forcibly moved, who have professional training and who seek to reintegrate the profession,” continued Walton.
“We had cybersecurity engineers, we had senior accountants, someone who worked in a bank in Afghanistan and what we did was that we equaled them to the employees of the royal house in the same professions.
“The objective of the program was to bring people to understand the way to employment in the United Kingdom in their profession, and have someone working in this industry helps them navigate this.
“We are extremely grateful to His Majesty for his leadership and support.”
