King of Jordan hails professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan Army

RAWALPINDI: King Abdullah II of Jordan on Sunday praised the Pakistan Army for its outstanding training, professionalism and operational readiness, highlighting the preparedness of troops and aircrews.

He expressed his views during a visit to the Global Industrial and Defense Solutions (GIDS) and Tilla Field firing ranges, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

King Abdullah was accompanied by Princess Salma and a delegation of Jordanian officials. Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir received the royal guests along with senior military officials.

During the visit, the Jordanian King received a comprehensive briefing on the structure, capabilities and product portfolio of GIDS.

The briefing showcased Pakistan’s progress in indigenous defense production, technological innovation and opportunities for bilateral defense cooperation with Jordan.

The Jordanian monarch then visited the Tilla Field shooting ranges. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also graced the occasion; while Azerbaijani Minister of Defense Industry Vugar Valeh oglu Mustafayev was also among the distinguished guests.

The exercise demonstrated multi-domain operations including conventional and aerial firepower, coordinated maneuver and spectrum warfare capabilities supported by multi-role drones employed in various configurations and roles.

King Abdullah II appreciated the high standards of training, professionalism, operational capabilities and readiness demonstrated by the participating troops and crews.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s deep respect and affection for King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan, noting that the visit reflects enduring friendship, mutual trust and a shared desire for peace and development.

COAS Munir highlighted the strong military ties between Pakistan and Jordan, emphasizing continued cooperation and shared vision of a stable and peaceful region, the military’s media wing said.

During the visit, the Jordanian King awarded the Order of Military Merit of the First Degree to Marshal Munir, recognizing his contribution to strengthening bilateral military relations.

The two-day visit of the Jordanian king marks an important milestone in strengthening the historic ties of brotherhood and brotherhood between Pakistan and Jordan.

In another event, President Asif Ali Zardari bestowed the country’s highest civilian honor on King Abdullah, during a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, for his contribution to regional and world peace.

The Jordanian king also conferred the Wisam al-Nahdah al-Mursa (Great Ornate Cordon of Al Nahdah, translated as Order of the Renaissance) on President Zardari.
