Council Session Wrongly Signs “Passed” Resolution Due to Oversight, Question Must Be Refiled
A misunderstanding occurred during a council session held on Friday regarding a resolution relating to traffic fines in the city, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has admitted.
Upon review of official council documents, it was found that the said resolution – although filed by some council members – was not properly discussed or debated during the session.
Additionally, the document was mistakenly signed and recorded as “adopted” due to administrative oversight, although it did not undergo the necessary deliberation process.
The resolution regarding traffic fines has therefore not yet been approved, said the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.

The resolution currently has no official status. The matter must be formally re-tabled at the next council meeting, where it will be presented, duly discussed and decided in due form and in accordance with established rules.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation says it remains committed to maintaining transparency, procedural correctness and accountability in all council affairs.
All measures are taken to ensure that administrative oversights or similar procedural errors do not recur in the future, assures the Company.
